Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been removed from suicide watch following his recent legal troubles.
The hip-hop mogul was arrested on September 16 and faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. He has been denied bail twice and remains in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center as he prepares for trial in early October.
After his arrest, Diddy’s attorneys proposed a $50 million bond to the prosecutors, which was declined. He has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Initially, it was reported that Diddy was placed on suicide watch and was refusing to eat. However, sources now indicate that he is “focused” on preparing for his upcoming trial.
According to PEOPLE, Diddy has been taken off suicide watch and has received visits from family members at the detention center. One of his lawyers commented, “He is focused and very strong,” adding that he is concentrating on his defense.
Previously, a source mentioned that Diddy was placed on suicide watch as a precaution due to his shock and uncertain mental state. The U.S. Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections describes suicide watch as a set of supervisory measures for inmates deemed at risk of self-harm, requiring frequent observation.
