ollowing P Diddy’s arrest on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, there has been intense speculation regarding the rapper’s previous friendship with a young Justin Bieber.
Eyebrow-raising videos featuring the young musician and the singer whose real name is Sean Combs resurfaced in the wake of millionaire rapper’s arrest earlier this month. And now, in an apparent show of support, Justin’s heartbreaking tune Lonely has had a huge uplift in sales.
Justin’s second single, Lonely, from his sixth studio album titled Justice has had a “1,400% increase in pure purchases in the span of just a few days,” Forbes reports. The week before there had been less than 100 copies sold and the rise in purchases comes after fans began questioning the tune’s lyrics.

One lyric from the track reads: “And everybody saw me sick/And it felt like no one gave a s**t/ They criticised the things I did as an idiot kid.”
The song continued: “What if you had it all/ And it felt like nobody to call? Maybe then you’d know me/’Cause I’ve had everything/ But no one’s listening/ And that’s just lonely. I’m so lonely. Lonely.”
One user on Twitter/X commented on the lyrics, saying: “I can’t listen to ‘So Lonely’ without tearing up. Remember how the tabloids mocked Justin Bieber for his behaviour when he was young? He was just trapped and trying to get out of the prison diddy and fame and fortune created for him.”
The 30-year-old dad-of-one is said to be deeply “disturbed” by the allegations made against his former mentor, 54. Justin was 15 when he was signed to Usher’s record label and taken under the wing of the Bad Boy Records founder.
Around this time, a video that has been described as “creepy” was shared online. It was made of Diddy and Justin where the music producer alleged he was “given custody” of Justin via Usher. “He’s signed to Usher and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album,” Diddy continued as he stood next to the teenage Justin in the video.
“I don’t have legal guardianship of him [Bieber] but for the next forty-eight hours he’s with me and we’re gonna go full crazy,” Diddy continued in the resurfaced video that has since gone viral.
Another clip from two years later, has also resurfaced. In it, Diddy asked Justin why he didn’t hang out with him anymore. Diddy tells the then-17-year-old: “You’re starting to act different huh? You ain’t been calling me and hanging out the way we used to hang out.”
An awkward response followed by Justin as he said: “Well, I mean, you try to get in contact with me you know through all my, you know, partners, and whatnot, but you never really got my number, so want my number?”
