Dennis Quaid supporting a GOP candidate doesnt come as a shock since he portrayed the former late President Ronald Regan in the recently released film Reagan
Actor Dennis Quaids ex-fiancée slammed him for backing Donald Trump at a campaign rally in California on Saturday.
Dennis was engaged to Lea Thompson, best known for her role as Lorraine Baines-McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy, from 1984 until 1987.
Dennis lent his support to Trump and spoke at a campaign rally for the Republican presidential nominee at the Calhoun Ranch in Coachella on Saturday. He asked the crowd: “Are we going to be a nation of law and order? Or wide open borders? Which is it? Because its time to pick a side.”

Dennis portrayed the late President Ronald Regan in the recently released film Reagan. The silver screen star calls Reagan his “favorite president of the 20th century”. During his speech at Trumps rally, Dennis compared America today with Reagans first election victory.
“Its amazing how the issues of the 1980 election are very similar to what they are today, he said. “We were a nation in decline. Thats what they told us. Ronald Reagan came along and said, no, were not a nation in decline. Were going there. And we followed him.”
He added: “The same with Trump, with President Trump. My favorite president of the 21st century.” Dennis has never hidden his strong support for Trump.
Earlier this year on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Dennis insisted that Trump deserved a second chance to be president because of his sincerity. He said: “He stands up to people, and thats what makes him a leader,” he said. “So, you know, people might call him an a – -hole, but hes my a- -hole.”
