Lil Wayne accused his former bodyguard Carlos Christian of taking pictures of him before the rapper allegedly assaulted Christian, according to a new legal filing.
Christian originally sued Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, in December 2023. He accused the 42-year-old of “punching him” and “threatening him” with a semiautomatic rifle. Christian also alleged Lil Wayne “punched him in the ear” during the 2021 altercation.
In a new filing, Christian has shared his recollection of what happened before the alleged assault. The musician’s ex-bodyguard claimed Lil Wayne shouted at him before allegedly assaulting him.

Christian said the rapper had been “well-acquainted” with him as he provided security for Lil Wayne Monday through Thursday “for most if not all weeks starting in or about June 2021”. In the new filing, he said his duties included escorting visitors to the front door of the main house.
According to the new documents, which were obtained by In Touch, Christian “should not have been mistakenly identified as an ‘intruder’ by [Wayne] but rather the security guard who was there most nights.”
Christian then alleged Lil Wayne accused him of taking pictures before the alleged assault. He claimed Wayne said: “Why the f— you takin’ pictures, b—- a— n—-?” Christian admitted he had been armed, but claimed he never pulled out his sidearm. He alleged Lil Wayne “emerged from the main house of the property wielding a semiautomatic rifle”.
In a separate filing, Lil Wayne has vehemently denied Christian’s claims. His lawyer noted: “[Carlos Christian] is much larger in stature than [Lil Wayne], [Christian] was armed with a gun, and shoved Carter during the incident.”
Lil Wayne’s attorney also alleged Christian was “capable to continue working for Special Forces,” which are military units trained to conduct special operations, following the incident and claimed he instead chose not to return to work. The filing continued: “Roughly four months later, [Christian] continued working as a security guard for a different company, despite allegedly being riddled with ‘severe emotional distress’ and PTSD from the alleged incident.”
Following the alleged incident in 2021, Christian called the cops and accused Lil Wayne of threatening him with an AR-15. At the time, sources told TMZ Lil Wayne strongly denied the accusation and said he does not own a gun. The Mirror US has approached Lil Wayne’s representatives for comment.
