ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter didn’t hold back while recalling the moment he broke a story while in bed with a woman.
During Wednesday’s installment of his collegeaue Kevin Clark’s “This Is Football” podcast, the host asked Schefter where the “weirdest place” was that he’s broken a news story.
“I can remember being in Denver one time,” Schefter said with a smirk before taking a pause to laugh. “I was um… How do I say this? I had just spent time with this woman for the first time and got a text that [former Broncos cornerback] Dale Carter was being suspended for eight games for substance abuse.
“So, as I continued to lay there, confirm it, and got the job done Kevin — in every which way.”
Clark, who couldn’t contain his laughter, was left speechless.
“I’m just staring straight at the camera buddy, that’s it,” he said. “This is the greatest episode I’ve ever had.”
Schefter later clarified on X that he technically broke the news about Carter “after” having sex with the woman.
In 2000, Carter was suspended by the NFL for one year for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy for the third time.
Schefter was a reporter with the Denver Post at the time.
Carter said back then he was disciplined by the NFL “without testing positive for any drug use whatsoever” and the league rejected his appeal.
