A man named Mark, who preferred not to disclose his surname, was drawn to an unusual whimpering sound as he strolled around the city of Sarajevo in Bosnia. On the side of the road, he noticed a cardboard box stowed away among the trees, so he went over to investigate. He was taken aback when he discovered four orphaned puppies huddled together in the dirt, each making cries of anguish and pleading for help.
According to a report by The Dodo, Lisa, Mark’s wife, stated that her husband never even considered the possibility of abandoning the puppies. In preparation for their trip around the world, the couple, also known as The Nomadic Canadians, quit their jobs and sold their home before setting out on their adventure. Mark came across the cute puppies while he was staying in a rented apartment in Sarajevo. To their good fortune, the proprietor of the rental property agreed to let them keep the puppies in the interim while they considered their options.
The confinement of four active puppies in such a small space presented a significant management challenge. Lisa explained that the adorable babies would wake up every few hours, so she and Mark had to take turns sleeping in order to keep an eye on them while they were sleeping. They put in a lot of effort to keep the puppies entertained, but it was a difficult task for them to accomplish. Mark and Lisa realized that it would be impossible to bring the puppies with them on their trip, despite the fact that they were very fond of the puppies. They were in a bind and couldn’t help but wonder how on earth they would be able to locate someone in a foreign country willing to adopt the furry friends.
Lisa revealed that she was struggling to make sense of all the options for what to do next. They experienced a mix of emotions for the next six days – feeling heartbroken that the dogs were abandoned, grateful that they found them, anxious about what to do next, happy to spend time with them, lacking sleep, afraid and stressed that they wouldn’t find a solution, but still hopeful and determined. Due to the fact that Lisa and her partner had been through the heartbreak of losing their own dog, Kelso, three years prior, they were unable to give up on these dogs.
Lisa declared her undying affection for canines and stated that it was impossible for her to abandon her furry friends. While the puppies were being walked outside of the apartment complex, thankfully, a family from the neighborhood took an interest in them and decided to adopt them. They were of assistance in locating a place that would be suitable for them to stay, and after some searching, the couple discovered Save the Animals Now, a shelter that had plenty of available space. Lisa was relieved to see that the puppies would be well taken care of and expressed her contentment as tears rolled down her cheeks. She was of the opinion that everything had been predestined to take place as it had, and that luck had been a factor in the meeting of the family and the rescue organization.
The happy couple were informed of some uplifting information after some time had passed. They were able to find loving homes for all four of the puppies that they rescued, and they were currently waiting to join their new families. They made a difference that allowed for a happy ending that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible. These four-legged companions, who were once left by the side of the road, were going to finally get the love and attention that they deserved.
