The Dallas Cowboys have not added an impact receiver to play alongside CeeDee Lamb. They could find an impact starter in the second wave of free agency.
Stefon Diggs remained unsigned after his season-ending ACL injury. He could potentially miss time to start the year but could be a great addition to the Cowboys. USA Today’s Cory Woodroof predicted Diggs would land with the Cowboys.
“The Cowboys need a good receiver to pair opposite of CeeDee Lamb, and Diggs could stay in Texas and return to the NFC to help Dallas contend for the division,” wrote Woodroof.
Diggs had 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. He is just one season removed from a Pro Bowl selection and could be a great compliment to Lamb. Diggs was a 1,000-yard receiver every season from 2018-2023. He led the league in receptions and yards in 2020 when he was also an All-Pro.
The Cowboys could actually be Diggs’ preferred destination if he wants to play with his brother, Trevon Diggs. The four-time Pro Bowler and will be highly motivated to show he can still play after his injury. Diggs has 10,491 career receiving yards and 70 touchdowns. He could take a lot of pressure off Lamb or simply benefit from softer coverage.
Dak Prescott, Lamb and Diggs could form the best Cowboys trio since Amari Cooper played in Dallas. Diggs is projected to earn a one-year, $13 million deal so he would not break the bank either.
