Where experts place Ravens in NFL power rankings after first wave of free agency image

We are through the first week and the first wave of NFL free agency and experts have begun weighing in on where teams stand in power rankings. Despite a quiet offseason thus far, the Baltimore Ravens are still doing quite well.

The biggest move of the Ravens’ offseason was the re-signing of left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who inked a three-year, $60 million deal that ensures he’ll continue to fortify Lamar Jackson’s blindside.

Another significant move was the signing of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who adds another much-needed weapon for Jackson to give the Ravens a strong trio at wide receiver, along with Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.

Other than those two moves, there hasn’t been much action in Baltimore in 2025 and general manager Eric DeCosta still has some big needs to address, including along the offensive line and in the secondary.

The Ravens clearly have more work to do, but experts aren’t too worried about that right now, as evidenced by where they are placing Baltimore in their NFL power rankings after the first wave.

NFL power rankings

Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News: 3

Iyer: “The Ravens made the right call to re-sign left tackle Ronnie Stanley as their only true free agency concern, and they were also prepared to make some needed secondary upgrades.”

Mason Cameron, Pro Football Focus: 1

Cameron: “After falling short of capitalizing on a historic season from Lamar Jackson, the Ravens made two critical moves—retaining talent and addressing a glaring offensive hole. They re-signed Ronnie Stanley, the top pending free-agent tackle, and added veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to bolster the passing attack. With a strong defensive foundation and an offense led by the highest-graded quarterback and running back tandem in the NFL, Baltimore is positioned to take the next step in the postseason.”

Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: 4

Johnson: “What matters for the Baltimore Ravens is that they re-signed left tackle Ronnie Stanley and it’s a testament to the franchise that he took a team-friendly deal. We believe the Ravens defense we saw after Marcus Williams was benched – a top-10 unit – is replicable and this offense could be even a little better in 2025. Baltimore will dominate the regular season and the roster is good enough to win the AFC. However, we’ve seen time and time again that this team implodes in the playoffs and it’s up to the Ravens to reverse that narrative in January.”

Kyle Soppe, Pro Football Network: 1

PFN: “PFSN’s QB+ metric projected Lamar Jackson to repeat as MVP last season. While he ultimately didn’t win the award, he remains one of the most impactful quarterbacks in the league. In his first season with Derrick Henry, Jackson led an offense that paced the league in yards per play — and by a wide margin. The Baltimore Ravens were 9.7% better per play than any other team. They moved to sustain that success by re-signing Ronnie Stanley and Patrick Ricard while adding DeAndre Hopkins to an already potent offense. Jackson was backed by the eighth-ranked defense, which peaked down the stretch. If that unit can build on its late-season success, there’s no reason to think this team won’t be playing in February.”
