The Green Bay Packers have quite a few decisions to make. With the NFL free agency tampering window opening today, they’re finalizing what direction they want to go.
One of the biggest questions about the Packers heading into free agency has been the future of starting center Josh Myers. He will be a free agent and no one has known what Green Bay would choose to do.
Myers has been a solid starter for the Packers. However, it seems that his time with the team has come to an end.
According to a report from Bill Huber of Green Bay Packers on SI, the team is expected to let Myers leave town in free agency.
“Barring an unexpected turn of events, the Green Bay Packers will not be re-signing starting center Josh Myers, a source told Packers On SI just before the unofficial start of free agency on Monday.”
Obviously, this means that the Packers will be looking to replace Myers. Whether they replace him in free agency or through the 2025 NFL draft, Green Bay will need to make a move at center.
Around the league, there will likely be plenty of interest in Myers. He is a very capable starter and will make whoever ends up signing him happy. The Packers simply feel that a change of pace at the position would be in their best interest.
Expect to hear a lot of news and rumors about Green Bay in the coming hours. Brian Gutekunst has money to spend and the Packers are not far off from being top-tier championship contenders.
