Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles opened their 2024 NFL campaign in unfamiliar territory. The NFC East giants faced off against the Green Bay Packers at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the league’s first game on South American soil.
Players on both teams were instructed to stay in their hotel rooms citing safety concerns, prompting cornerback Darius Slay to travel without his wife Jennifer, and the rest of his family.
However, Hurts’ girlfriend Bry Burrows did accompany the quarterback to Sao Paulo and was spotted giving him a warm embrace and a good luck kiss before kickoff.
However, that wasn’t the only thing eagle-eyed fans caught.
Burrows was spotted sporting a diamond ring on her ring finger, sparking rumors that the quarterback and his girlfriend had secretly gotten engaged. Jennifer Slay, Darius Slay’s wife, was among those excited to see the massive ring on her finger. She reposted a photo of the couple on X and captioned it:
While the photo has quickly gone viral on social media, there’s no official word on whether Hurts popped the question to his girlfriend.
Bryonna Rivera Burrows, better known as Bry Burrows, made her first public appearance with Jalen Hurts after the Eagles’ NFC Championship Game win over the San Francisco 49ers. The quarterback confirmed they were dating in a cover story for Essence in April 2023.
The couple reportedly met during their time together at the University of Alabama, where Hurts played for the Crimson Tide for three years before transferring to the University of Oklahoma in 2019. Burrows graduated from her alma mater with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Sciences, Spanish, and Political Science before pursuing and completing her Master’s degree.
Despite allegedly dating since 2016, the couple did not go public with their relationship until 2023. When asked why the couple were so reclusive during their rare public appearance together at the Time 100 Red Carpet event in October 2023, Hurts responded,
“I know I put a lot of focus on my job, my craft and all of that. Everything don’t have to be explained, I’m happy,” per the New York Post.
After taking his time to confirm his relationship with Burrows, Jalen Hurts and his girlfriend may be in no hurry to announce any possible engagement.
