Most animals are susceptible to the dangers of the outside world, especially strays who have no proper place to call home. Therefore, if you ever have the chance to extend a hand of kindness to these beings, always take the opportunity to provide them with some solace and safety.
One person who seems to be leading the way in this avenue is Malaysian medical specialist Dr Siti Aishah Yunos, who runs her own clinic in Langkawi, Kedah. In a clip that was uploaded to the doctor’s page the specialist shared how she cares for a few stray puppies that roam the street in front of her house.
At the beginning of the clip, Dr Aishah spoke of a clever black puppy who always comes to her front gate. Wagging its tail while maintaining a safe distance, Dr Aishah has her helper pour out kibble for the puppy in a metal bowl, which is placed across the road of her home.
Speaking on the intelligence of the three-month old pup, Dr Aishah notes how smart the puppy is, in that while they provide it food, it understands to not come close to her or touch her. After her helper provides food to the dog, Aishah recalled how there were actually more dogs who came by her residence prior to this, though she was unsure of where they were at that point.
Not seconds after this do three white puppies come from behind a clump of bushes in front of her house.
“Oh my goodness, it looks as though they were hiding. I thought they went missing. Mak cik, you have to put food for them here now,” light-heartedly said Dr Aishah to her helper.
In captions written across the screen of the video, Dr Aishah stated that while she does not look after these puppies personally, she is aware of their mother, who gave birth to them in front of her house awhile ago. According to the doctor, they have remained in the area opposite of her home, adding that her helper had cleared the bushes to allow them to play around there.
Speaking positively about the pups, Dr Aishah stated that her other neighbours also play with them at times, making them popular with other residents. Aside from that, Dr Aishah also stated that the dogs’ presence has reduced the number of motorcyclists who use their street to race one another, bringing more peace to their surroundings.
“I thought all of them became big and left me already, but here they are, still in front of my house,” said Dr Aishah at the end of the video.
Receiving immense praise from the public, many users thanked Dr Aishah for going the extra mile in caring for the stray dogs, saying that despite one’s religious practices, they are still God’s creatures.
“When you give the dogs food, they will remember it and will protect your residence. May all your troubles be eased and may you receive an immense amount of blessings, doctor!” thanked one user.
