Dozens of dogs and cats now have a chance at a much brighter future in the Pacific Northwest.

The Wings of Rescue “Love is in the Air” airlift landed on Saturday at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. In the crates there were more than 200 dogs and cats taken from at-risk shelters in California and Oklahoma.

Some of the dogs that arrived at the Museum of Flight in Seattle had originally been scheduled to be euthanized.

“There’s a tremendous demand for pets here and we shouldn’t be killing animals elsewhere when they’ve got great homes with great people waiting for them in Washington,” said Ric Browde of Wings of Rescue.

The Feb. 13 airlift to the Museum is in partnership with several local animal shelters, including the following: PAWS, The Noah Center,Kitsap Humane Society,Humane Society Tacoma-Pierce County, Skagit Humane Society, Seattle Animal Shelter and Sunny Sky’s Dog Rescue.
