There are individuals who, to say the least, bring disgrace to our species. These are beings who exhibit no empathy for those more vulnerable, such as pets. Their indifference, cruelty, and apathy can have devastating consequences for these voiceless creatures who cannot fend for themselves.
The case of Mateus, a dog left hanging by his waist through the back door of his own home for an entire month, is nothing short of shocking.
During that excruciating month, Mateus not only had to endure this humiliating and extreme situation, but he also had limited access to food and water, pushing him to the brink of starvation.
“This unfortunate dog, whose name is Mateus, was discovered hanging from the back door of a wealthy family’s house. When we found him, he was at the mercy of these powerful individuals,” reported the Paw Rescue organization.
Furthermore, the neighbors in the area confirmed the duration of this appalling situation. They admitted that none of them had the courage to help Mateus, fearing repercussions from the affluent yet inhumane family. The dog remained suspended for over a month, during which no one saw him receive any sustenance. Despite their love for Mateus, they dared not intervene to avoid a confrontation with the wealthy family.
Through what can only be described as a miracle, Mateus managed to survive his month-long ordeal. His case eventually garnered public attention, and a group of animal rights activists intervened just in time to prevent further harm to the canine.
Mateus was rescued and immediately transported to an emergency veterinary clinic for a thorough health examination and the necessary medical care and treatment.
Fortunately, aside from malnutrition and the indignity he suffered, Mateus did not suffer from any serious health issues. Thanks to the efforts of his rescuers and the veterinary team, he quickly regained his health. He now enjoys a new family that provides him with all the love and care every animal deserves.
“We take pride in our ability to offer this innocent being a chance at a better life. Today, he is thriving with his new adoptive family,” added the pro-animal organization.
We must continue to emphasize that having a pet demands the same responsibility as raising a child. Not everyone is qualified for this task, and there are still many who bring pets into their homes only to subject them to disgrace, humiliation, and precarious conditions.
