The price for these dogs has skyrocketed and having a dog like that has now become a symbol of having high rank and power in China. These dogs are seeing as a pure race, and they are never really seen or bred in other places than Tibet.
“They are considered a perfect species,” Lu Liang, the creator who sold the most expensive dog in the world, “These dogs have excellent genes and are always easy-to-educate dogs. When I started this business ten years ago, I never imagined that one day they would have this price. ”
The breeder did not give details on the sale of the puppy because it was confidential information, but revealed that the buyer paid 10 million yen (equivalent of 1.5 million dollars). He is a millionaire coal baron, resident of the north from China.
“I could see that he loved the dog, otherwise it would not have sold. The buyer said he considered it a good investment. Because it is a male dog, it can be ‘rented’ to other breeders and, in this way, the money will be recovered in a short time, “he concluded.
The pups raised by Lu are fed with chicken and beef seasoned with exotic Chinese delicacies such as sea cucumbers. “The price is justified. We spend a lot of money on breeding dogs. We have salaries of many employees to pay, “he said.
The Tibetan mastiff are very good around smaller pets and show little aggression but if aggravated they are a force to be reckoned with. Two Tibetan Mastiffs are capable of bringing down a lion.
If you do feel like getting one as a pet you may also have to put up with the odd dead bird in your garden. Mastiffs love chasing, killing and eating birds, maybe they are part cat.
Other dogs that are becoming extremely expensive and very sort after throughout the world include the Canadian Eskimo Dog and Samoyeds which are also fetching sky high prices.
These dogs are not for just anybody, they are extremely large and so require plenty of room. There feeding bill is quite high and they must have plenty of exercise.

A healthy newborn Tibetan Mastiff puppy can weigh anywhere between 13-22 ounces, they gain around 1-3 pounds a week and by adulthood can weigh between 48 to 82 kg.
