Jason Kelce wants to set the record straight about his Eras Tour “nap.”
During the Wednesday, Oct. 23 episode of his New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast, the retired NFL star, 36, denied falling asleep during Taylor Swift‘s Oct. 18 show in Miami as he discussed the photo in which he appeared to nap at the concert, posted by his friend Beau Allen.
“You took a nap at the Eras Tour,” Jason’s brother and co-host Travis Kelce, who is dating Swift, 34, said. “What is that all about?”
“Travis, you know I didn’t take a nap. I did not take a nap,” insisted Jason.
“This show is absolutely electric. It’s the greatest show that’s ever been onstage, and you’re over here falling asleep,” Travis, 35, responded.
In the photo, which was originally posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), Jason sat with his eyes closed in the stands during the concert — leading fans to believe he was sleeping — as his wife Kylie, who attended the show with him, stood watching as she held their 3-year-old daughter Elliotte.
Jason then gave some background on the photo on the podcast. “So Kylie is holding Elliotte, right? Elliotte was just with me. We were dancing, and I was sitting down … we go out there, and I realize I’m in the middle of the open,” he explained. “It isn’t like a box, like closed.”
Jason said he felt like he was “in a fishbowl” with “everybody staring at me” so he sat down.
“I’m just sitting here, and I’m feeling it. And I’m tapping my thigh,” he continued. “And I’m in the moment listening to the song. And then all of a sudden, I go on Twitter, and I see this f—— picture. And I’m like, dude, what the f—?”

Jason also shared proof of how he couldn’t have been sleeping in the photo. “My hand is hovering,” he pointed out. “You can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee.”
Jason reacted to Allen, 32, posting the snap, “I’m nervous about all these other people getting pictures with me and Ellie, and I’m trying to have a moment. And then all of a sudden, I see this — betrayed by one of my best friends,” he joked.
Travis, meanwhile, shared his feelings on missing the show, after Jason attended with his wife Kylie, 32, their two eldest daughters Wyatt, 5, and Elliotte and his and Travis’ mother Donna Kelce.
“I had, all the, FOMO in the world, with the entire family and a lot of our friends being there,” he said. “…They were saying the same thing that you’re saying. The Miami Stadium was just on another level. Incredible. I wish I was there.”
