Pamela Anderson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood but she recently shared why she decided to leave it behind.
The 57-year-old actress who now lives in Canada explained her decision to move was about self-rediscovery. Pamela grew up in a town called Ladysmith located in British Colombia. She spent her childhood there and graduated from Highland Secondary School in Comox. She then moved out to Los Angeles after she started working for Playboy.
She explained how she moved back to get back to her roots.

“I guess a homecoming, you could say, to really kind of look at my life and remember who I was – not what other people were telling me I was,” she told WWD.com.
“And I didn’t want anything that had happened to me define me. I wanted what I do to define me… all these realizations came to me in the rose garden,” she continued.
Pamela has been taking advantage of the fresh air and open space by gardening. She plants roses which she uses for the rose hip oil in her skincare line.
In recent times, Pamela has embraced a more low-key lifestyle. She has famously made the decision to ditch makeup after her makeup artist Alexis Vogel died from cancer in 2019. The two had been working together since 1993.
She previously told Elle of the decision: “She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, its just better for me not to wear makeup.” The star admitted her new look has been “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious.” She added: “I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and its just like me to go against the grain.”
She also decided against appearing in the Baywatch documentary. Sources close to her told TMZ that she was busy with other opportunities at the time and wanted to put her Baywatch days behind her. The sources insisted that there was no “bad blood” with her co-stars but rather she wanted to keep her past in the past.
Even though she no longer lives in Hollywood, Pamela is still acting. She has been filming The Last Showgirl with Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka and Billie Lourd which will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.
