She tells the girl that by the time she grows up, the Fenty mogul will be “antique” in comparison
Rihanna might have to add motivational speaking to her repertoire.
In a recent interview with E! News, the outlet sent seven-year-old correspondent Francesca to chat with the billionaire beauty mogul to celebrate the release of her Fenty x Puma Avanti sneaker line for children.
“I want to be the next Rihanna,” the young girl said with a giggle. The “Umbrella” singer, 36, put her hand on the girl’s shoulder and said, “Oh no, you got to be better than Rihanna.”
She further joked, “Rihanna? That’s late. By the time you grow up, I’m going to be vintage. Antique.”
The young interviewer then asks if Rihanna has any advice to offer, to which the singer sweetly responded, “Aim for the stars. Don’t aim for me. Aim beyond me. You’re going to be fantastic.”
Rihanna then offered a message to Francesca’s generation and beyond: “I want you guys to always be greater, better, smarter, and change the world in ways that we couldn’t have.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the singer revealed that while her two children, RZA, 2, and Riot, 14 months, are too young to provide input on the look of the shoe, they had a hand in the design.
“They did help me figure out how to make it easier to put shoes on kids,” she told Francesca. “I had to take my time in redesigning it to make it something that us moms can get onto you guys without you guys being annoyed.”
