Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a storm of controversy, with reports revealing that he once filmed a music video in a now-abandoned Hollywood Hills mansion that has since been taken over by squatters and graffiti artists. The mansion, known for its luxurious features like a grand great room and spiral staircase, was the backdrop for Combs’ 2007 song “Last Night” featuring Keyshia Cole. The once-elegant property is now marked by spray-painted messages, including “Diddy was here” on the roof, after word spread about the video shoot.
This mansion, previously inhabited by notable figures such as Mary J. Blige, has become a point of contention for neighbors. One resident, identified as Jack, noted that the house’s decline has led to increased problems, with squatters making it their home for over two years. He expressed concern about safety and suggested the need for security to protect the neighborhood.
Combs, meanwhile, is currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after being arrested by federal agents on serious charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. This ongoing legal battle only adds to the scrutiny surrounding him.
The mansion at 7571 Mulholland Drive has been owned by John Powers Middleton since 2012 and has become an eyesore for nearby residents, with graffiti covering the exterior and complaints of safety hazards stemming from the squatters. In October 2022, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety declared the property a nuisance and issued an abatement order, requiring the owner to secure the premises with a fence to mitigate the ongoing issues.
