The singer revealed on Instagram that she was diagnosed with multiple medical conditions in 2018
Solange Knowles is sharing an update on her health.
The singer, 38, this week revealed she’d received multiple diagnoses in 2018 as she commented on an Instagram post from her fellow musician Shaun Ross, 33, in which he spoke candidly about his journey with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) as a result of long COVID.
Per the Mayo Clinic, POTS “affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary body functions such as heart rate and blood pressure.”
In the comments section of the Oct. 14 post, Knowles said she’d also been diagnosed with the medical condition, as well as Sjogren’s and Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).
Sjogren’s syndrome “is a disorder of your immune system identified by its two most common symptoms — dry eyes and a dry mouth,” according to the Mayo Clinic, while the National Institutes of Health claims that with MCAS, “mast cells mistakenly release too many chemical agents, resulting in symptoms in the skin, gastrointestinal tract, heart, respiratory, and neurologic systems.”
