This morning, I stumbled upon this scruffy little boy on the edge of the forest, all alone. It’s undoubtedly a stray cat abandoned and surviving in the wilderness. As soon as it spotted me, the little one got frightened and fled into the thick foliage. The cat took refuge in a makeshift den, seemingly its regular spot for sleeping. I have never seen a cat in such a terrible condition before—its fur matted and tattered from dragging along the ground.
It will be okay. I decided to end its days of loneliness and give this cat a home. Upon returning home, the cat continued to display wild behavior, as if still in the wilderness, incessantly hissing and seeking hiding spots. We showered it with affection, gently wiping away the dirt with warm towels. However, its entire coat remained matted, scaly, and beyond repair.
The cat quickly began to feel trust and familiarity with us. It purred softly in its sleep and showed immense gratitude every time we stroked it. After the meal, we took the cat to the veterinary clinic for a health check-up and grooming. The shedding and fleas required the veterinarian to shave off its entire coat for treatment.
Furthermore, the cat had a mild eye infection, causing continuous discharge and pus, completely covering its eyes. The medical staff helped apply medication and cleaned it gently with cotton swabs. For the first time, it could see everything clearly and looked at me attentively, as if touching my soul.
I thought everything had come to an end, but an announcement from the clinic left me stunned for a few minutes. This poor cat is suspected of showing signs of cancer. The ultrasound and consultation will take place next Friday, determining whether the cat will live or succumb to the disease.
It’s truly a devastating shock, leaving us restless and filled with worry. May God grant this sweet furry angel the strength to overcome all illness and escape the clutches of late-stage cancer.
